El Valle Golf Course
El Valle is one of nine planned courses in Polaris World's Nicklaus Golf Trail, all within a radius of 25 km. The course is designed by Nicklaus Design, and is part of Nicklaus Bears Best Trail.
Another four courses are now open; Mar Menor Golf 18 holes, La Torre Golf 18 holes and Hacienda Riquelme Golf 18 holes. Condado de Alhama Golf Resort is open, La Terazzas de la Torre has just opened too. Due to the finance crisis, there are only three courses left in Polaris World; El Valle, La Torre and Hacienda Riquelme.
Other great courses we can recommend, are Hacienda de Alamo, Roda Golf and Beach Resort, La Finca, Peraleja, and Lo Romero. We have heard Las Colinas are great. Mosa Trajectum has 27 holes and a par 3 course. The par 3 course may be played by beginners / children.
You can play golf year round in Murcia, even in December and January the greens are in a good condition. If you are lucky, you can wear a T-shirt and a shorts in the daytime. The Region is famous for its winds in the winter months so remember wind protection clothes. As a contrast the summers can be extremely hot, however this resort is ideally placed with a mountain breeze around the course.
The mid temperature in the region is 21 degrees Celcius.
European Challenge Tour El Valle
Polaris World held the European Challenge tour, second qualifying stage at El Valle, from the 26th to the 29th of December 2010. Hacienda Riquelme have just had The Spanish Open Pro Championship. This is testament to the standard of the course and its popularity so early in its conception.
